Mustard Nine to Five

Another weather-riffic day in the Emerald City!  When I took the top photo this morning, it was gray and cool.  As soon as I walked inside the house, it began pouring, which lasted about 5 hours.  When it was time to walk Lucy, it was still cold, but dry, and getting sunnier by the minute. The last two photos are my evening dog-walking outfit, minus the dog.  My sister would tell me I'm being like Dolly Parton because of my mid-day outfit changes.  Apparently she does outfit changes mid-song?  I don't know a lot about Dolly...

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

Daily Details:
- weather: see above
- mustard top, thrifted, cost $1 divided by 1 use = cost per wear $1
- shorts, thrifted, cost $3, worn once = $3 cost per wear
- bag, second-hand via ebay, approximate current cost per wear = $5
- scarf, thrifted, cost $2 divided by 2 uses = $1 cost per wear
- jeans, accpw $9
- sandals, very very old, accpw $0.50
- crocs, accpw $1

  1. Well, my neck of the woods is your neck of the woods. ;)
Those plaid shorts are so so cute! I'd love to own them and I'd wear them with the yellow top along with that scarf in the following photo. Very nice!!!

My son and I went to see the Abraham Lincoln Vampire movie today. It was raining when we went in and sun shining when we came out. That makes for a great movie. ;)

  3. i think there's no problem at all with mid-day outfit changes ;-) It's very practical if you can do it (I mean, if you had been at work, it would have been impossible to change and it would have been way to warm for the way home).
And yes, I think I'm going to keep the skirt!

  4. Mustard is such a great colour!

It's cold here but I guess that's to be expected considering it's winter & all.

There's nothing wrong with a mid-day change of outfit, it's better than being cold!

  5. I totally change outfits in the middle of the day! Or at least accessories. :) I'm a stay-at-home-mom, so often what's appropriate for one part of the day doesn't work for the rest. And I always try to make sure I'm looking reasonably put-together when my husband comes home. :)

But I like BOTH of your outfits - that's another good reason to change mid-day, too. Just to wear more cute outfits! :)

  6. I change halfway through the day if the weather changes and I'm able to get home to do it. Must be a coastal thing! Both outfits look great!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog; I tried to email you to give you a better explanation but don't have access to the address on your profile. :)

  7. I love plaid! Love the look of the plaid shorts! And I like your bright yellow shirt. Your weather sounds like mine was last Sunday, started out somewhat warm and ended rather coolish.

  12. Ah mustard really suits you! I'm not comfortable wearing it for some reason! The weather was minging where I was in Wales, such a disappointment! It also meant I slipped coming down the mountain I was climbing and hit my head and got completely covered in wet slimy mud! I was most disappointed!

  17. yellow and black are so cool together and those sunnies look great on you!
what is not great is the weather in my country. it's definitely not summer but actually I'd be glad if the summer would arrive for my vacation which will come after 25 days (yeah, I'm crazily counting, haha).

  18. Yellow is definitely your color... It was boiling hot this weekend but it's supposedly going to be cooler this week. I don't get it when people say Africa is hot...It never ever gets this hot unless you are in the desert. Nairobi is 78 all year.. Perfection I tell you. This humidity, I can't deal!lol

  19. Love the outfit change up. The shorts are cute and fabulous, and the scarf is very cool. Little dash of punk paired with the bright yellow is interesting.

It's been quite hot here though tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. It's been hot ever since March.
